NAATU KOZHI / COUNTRY CHICKEN CURRY


Country chicken 

Ingredients:


Naatu Kozhi (Country Chicken) – 500 gms, cleaned, washed and chopped
coconut Oil as required
Curry Leaves – few
Onions (Shallots) – 2 cup, peeled and sliced 
Tomato- 1 big cubed 
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Garam masala powder - 1 spoon 
Cumin Seeds – 1 spoon 
Peppercorns – 1 spoon 
Dry Red Chillies –  3-4 
Coriander seeds - 3 spoons 



Method:

In a wide pan, dry roast the peppercorns, cumin seeds, coriander seeds  and dry red chillies.Remove and grind to a fine powder.






Clean the chicken well coat with turmeric powder .Add salt & ginger garlic paste and mix well.
Pressure cook it 1/2 way done. (depends on the tenderness of the chicken ) 





Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium flame.Add the garam masala powder and sliced  shallots and fry for a minute. Add curry leaves . 




Add the half cooked naatu kozhi pieces. Add cubed tomatoes and the ground masala powder .Stir-fry for a few minutes.





Cook until all moisture has evaporated and the chicken pieces are crispy and cooked add curry leafs . 



Remove and serve hot as a side dish with rice, parotta or roti.
