MUTTON COCONUT MASALA CURRY

Ingredients 

Mutton-1/2 kg
Tomato - 2 
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Red chilli powder-1 tspn
Curry leaves 
Salt
Oil


To roast & grind: 

Coconut-1 cup
Whole gram masala - cloves -2 cardamom -2 , cinnamon stick - 1'' , Aniseed - 1 
Ginger - 2 '' 
Garlic - 4-5 pods 
Small onion-5-6 sliced 
Dry Red chili - 6-7 
Coriander seeds - 2 1/2 tspn
Pepper seeds- 1/2 tspn
Oil- 1tspn Salt



METHOD : 

Pressure cook mutton with turmeric powder , chili powder salt and tomatoes for about 3-4 whisles( varies depending on the meat using and the pressure cooker)





Meanwhile ,dry roast coconut , small onion , all the whole spices till they turn golden brown then lower the flame and Saute till the raw smell goes.Just before turning off the heat add 1 tspn oil and mix well.
Grind it into a smooth paste by adding enough water, don't make the paste too watery.




Heat 1 tspn oil in another pan Saute till the onions turn brown. Add curry leaves chili powder ,Turn off heat and pour the seasoning into the cooked mutton .




Add the roasted coconut paste. Give a good mix ,sprinkle more salt if needed,add water cover and cook in medium flame for 15 mints or till the mutton is well cooked.






Serve hot .This recipe goes well with ghee rice and appam.
