BLACK FOREST CAKE

Black Forest cake 

Ingredients

For chocolate Cake:

Eggs-5
Maida-2 cup
Cocoa Powder-1 cup
Powdered Sugar-2 cup
Oil- ½ cup
Vanilla essence-2 tsp
Baking powder- 2tsp

For Icing:

Whipping Cream-1 litre 
Icing sugar-1 cup 
Vanilla essence-1 tsp

For decoration:

Canned Cherries with juice
Grated Chocolate or chocolate shavings




Method:

Preheat the oven for 170 degrees....
First prepare the cake tin by applying butter on the bottom and sides and dusting some flour on the tin and remove the excess.

Keep the bowl and mixer rods into the freezer Atleast 30 min before using for whipping the cream. 

In a mixing bowl crack open the eggs and beat until fluffy.

Add in the Sugar and beat for few more mins.pour in the oil continue beating. Add the vanilla essence and mix well.

Sift in flour , baking powder and cocoa powder now fold gently utill well combined.

Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake for for 35-40 min.

Check the cake by inserting a knife in the centre of the cake if the knife comes out clean then the cake is ready.Remove the cake from the oven and let the cake cool for 15 min.

Remove from the pan and let it cool completely.



Now cut the cake into 2equal slices horizontally.



Use the juice in the cherry tin to wet the cake slices u can brush over each slice of the cake.




Whip the icing ingrediants together until peak stage if you take the mixer rod out,it forms a peak without dropping.



Take the whipped cream and apply over a cake slice and add chopped cherries. 



Place another slice of cake over it and wet the cake with cherry juice again now apply the whipped cream to the entire cake.



smooth the surface with a wet spatula. 



Decorate the cake with cherries,chocolate sprinkles or chocolate shavings.

Chill the cake in the refrigerator before slicing....
