DAL MAKHANI
INGREDIENTS:
Whole black gram – ½ cup
Red kidney beans (rajma) – 1/4
cup
Spices (cardamom, clove,
cinnamon stick)
Finely Chopped onions – 1
large
Finely chopped tomatoes – 2
large
Ginger and garlic paste – 1
tblspn
Green chillies – 2
Garam masala powder – 1 tspn
Kashmiri red chilli powder – 1
tblspn
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Chopped coriander leaves
Salt
Oil
METHOD:
·
Wash and soak overnight both black gram and
rajma
·
Drain and pressure cook with 3 cups of water,
salt and with a pinch of turmeric powder.
·
Rajma should be cooked very soft
·
Heat oil in a pan, splutter spices, add green
chillies, chopped onions.
·
After onion changes color add tomatoes and cook.
·
Add red chilli powder and garam masala to it
cook for some time.
·
Now add the cooked dal and rajma , add little
water and salt.
·
Cook in low flame until the spices gets blend
with the dal.
·
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot
with chapatti’s, roties, and it goes with dosa too…. Try this…
Note:
Not necessary to remove all
the black skin of dal…..
