CHICKEN BRIYANI IN PRESSURE COOKER- HOME STYLE



Ingredients:
• ½ kg Chicken (pieces)
• 500 gm(4 cups) Basmati Rice (washed and soaked for 30 min)
• 4 tsp Garam Masala Powder
• 50 gm Butter
• 4 tsp Garlic (chopped)
• 1 cup Onions (sliced)
• 4 tsp Ginger (chopped)
• 3 tsp Red Chili Powder
• 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
• 5 tbsp Oil
• 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
• 2 cup Curd (yogurt)
• 2 cups Tomato (chopped)
• 2 Bay Leaves
4- green chili
Whole garam masala- 3 cardamon, 3 clove, a bit of cinnamon bark
BUNCH OF CORIANDER LEAVES AND MINT LEAVES CHOPPED
RAISIN AND CASHEW ROASTED WITH GEE

Note: soak the rice for about ½ an hour, drain the water from the rice and make it dry ,  in a empty pan fry the uncooked rice with  some gee or butter till it dry…. Keep aside.



METHOD:
Put CHICKEN , garam masala powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder , coriander powder and curd  in a bowl and mix well.

Leave for ½ an hour

Heat oil and butter in a pressure cooker and add remaining whole garam masala bay leaves, Allow it to crackle, add sliced onions and cook it till light golden brown.

Add the chopped ginger and garlic. Green chili

Add chopped tomatoes

Add half of the coriander leaves and mint leaves

Add the marinated chicken add the salt

Cook for some time till the chicken become tender

By the same time all the water from the chicken should get dry or check the quantity of water in  the chicken and less the cups of water to be added according to it. 

Now add 8 cups of water add salt allow to boil

Add the rice… check for the salt

Now add the remaining coriander leaves and mint leaves

Before closing the lid…. And the roasted cashew and raisin… after this do not mix the rice.

Pressure cook for 1 whistle time

Open and garnish with coriander leaves

And serve with onion salad
