CRAB MASALA
Ingredients :
crab – 3lbs top shell removed and cut into 4 pieces
Shallots – 3 cups finely chopped
Tomato – 2 finely chopped
Ginger garlic paste – 1tbsp with 1part ginger and 3part garlic
Green chilly – 2 slit lengthwise
Red chilly powder – 1tsp
Coriander powder – 2tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2tsp
Mustard seed – 1tsp
Fennel Seed – 1tsp
Curry Leaves – 20
Cilantro – 2tbsp finely chopped
Oil – 2 tbps
Coconut oil – 1tsp for flavor (optional)
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat oil in a deep non stick vessel. Add mustard after it splutters, add fennel seeds & curry leaves.
Add onions cook for two mins add ginger garlic paste, green chilly and fry until it gets a golden brown
Add Tomato, turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, little salt and close and cook for 6-7 mins or until the mixture turns mushy and the water evoporates.
Add the crab, one cup water and salt and close and cook for 10 – 15 mins or until the water evaporates. Turn off the heat. Add the cilantro leaves and coconut oil and mix well.
